A simple and easy to understand recipe video shows how to make Seafood Okonomiyaki With Cheese Sauce.
The okonomiyaki that uses a lot of seafood is seasoned with Japanese consomme soup stock as the base instead of dashi (Japanese soup stock) and is finished in a Western style. Please enjoy it with some melted cheese. The rich cheese sauce goes well with the fluffy okonomiyaki.

  • Cabbage
    200 g
  • Japanese yam (Yamato-imo)
    40 g
  • (A)Cake flour (Pastry flour)
    80 g
  • (A)Water
    50 ml
  • (A)Eggs
    2
  • (A)Granulated Japanese consomme soup stock
    1 tsp
  • (A)Tempura bits
    10 g
  • Sauce
  • (B)Shredded pizza cheeze
    50 g
  • (B)Salted butter
    10 g
  • (B)Cake flour (Pastry flour)
    10 g
  • Milk
    30 ml
  • Salad oil
    1 tbsp

How to make

  1. Prepare. Thaw and drain the seafood mix. Peel the Japanese yam (yamato-imo).
  2. 1. Shred the cabbage.
  3. 2. Grate the yamato-imo.
  4. 3. Add ingredient (A) in a bowl and mix together, add Step 1 and 2, and mix until everything is blended.
  5. 4. Heat a pan over medium heat, add cooking oil, spread half of Step 3 onto a pan in a circle, and cook.
  6. 5. Once browned, flip it over, cover with a lid, and cook over low heat for about 5 minutes until heated through, then remove it from the heat.
  7. 6. Heat ingredient (B) in a separate pan over low heat, and when the cheese is melted and everything is combined, add the milk, mix, and remove it from the heat.
  8. 7. Place Step 5 on a plate, pour over Step 6, and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

First, brown the okonomiyaki dough over medium heat, then turn it over and cook it thoroughly over low heat.
