Ingredients

  • Rice
    200 g
  • Pickled mustard greens
    30 g
  • Spicy pollack roe
    30 g
  • Water
    200 ml
  • (A)Japanese style granulated soup stock
    1 tsp
  • (A)Soy sauce
    1 tsp
  • (A)Salt
    2 three finger pinches
  • Roasted white sesame seeds
    as needed
  • Nori seaweed
    as needed

How to make

  1. 1. Cut the spicy cod/pollack roe (mentaiko) in half.
  2. 2. Add water and the ingredient (A) to a pot and bring to a boil over high heat.
  3. 3. Place the rice in a bowl and top with Step 1, pickled mustard greens (takana-duke), and white roasted sesame seeds, then sprinkle Step 2.
  4. 4. Top with nori seaweed and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

You can also enjoy the mentaiko with roasted mentaiko. It is also delicious adding vegetables such as mizuna mustard greens.
