Please adjust the spiciness of the curry with your favorite Japanese curry roux. You can add leftover vegetables such as eggplant or Japanese green bell pepper (piman). Mincing and adding mushrooms other than shiitake mushrooms also sounds great. If you have leftover the curry, you can put them on toast and toast them with cheese to enjoy as well.

  • Ground beef and pork
    200 g
  • Onion

  • Garlic
    1/2
  • Carrot
    60 g
  • Shiitake mushroom
    2
  • Curry mix (Curry roux)
    3
  • Water
    80 ml
  • Rice
    300 g
  • Salad oil
    2 tsp

How to make

  1. Prepare. Coarsely chop Japanese curry roux.
  2. 1. Mince onion, garlic, carrot, and shiitake mushrooms.
  3. 2. Add oil to a pan and stir-fry the onion over medium heat. Once softened, add the garlic and ground beef and pork and stir-fry.
  4. 3. Add the carrot and shiitake mushroom to Step 2 and stir-fry.
  5. 4. When everything has softened, add water to Step 3 and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
  6. 5. Add Japanese curry roux to Step 4 and simmer for another 5 minutes until the water evaporates.
  7. 6. Place the rice and Step 5 on a plate and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

Finely mince the onion, carrot, garlic, and shiitake mushroom as much as possible, to about the same size as ground beef and pork. Break up ground beef and pork well when stir-frying. Be careful not to burn the bottom of the pan when evaporating the moisture.
