  • Egg yolk

  • Cake flour (Pastry flour)

  • Milk
    50 ml
  • Salad oil
    40 ml

  • Hot water

How to make

  1. Prepare. Preheat the oven to 170°C (340°F). Wrap the mold with aluminum foil.
  2. 1. Heat cooking oil in a pot over medium heat to 80°C (180°F).
  3. 2. ransfer to a heat-resistant bowl, sift in cake flour (pastry flour), mix it well with a whisk, add the milk 2 at a time, and mix it well.
  4. 3. Gradually add the egg yolks and mix well.
  5. 4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with a hand mixer, adding the sugar little by little, until they form peaks.
  6. 5. Add a scoop of Step 4 to Step 3 and lightly mix with a rubber spatula. Add the remaining Step 4, 2 at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  7. 6. Pour the mixture into a mold lined with parchment paper, and drop the mixture flat onto the table 2 times from about 4-inch height to remove the air bubbles.
  8. 7. Place Step 6 in a heat-resistant container, pour hot water to about half the height of the mold, and bake it in a 170°C (340°F) oven for about 45 minutes.
  9. 8. When it cools down, remove it from the mold and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

Please make sure to preheat the oven before baking. If the oven does not have a preheating function, set the temperature and heat for 10 minutes before baking. The strength of the heat may vary depending on the type of oven and the period of use. Please make sure to follow the recipe as a guide but adjust the baking time as needed. If it browns too fast, cover it with aluminum foil.
