Ingredients
12 onigiris

  • Rice
    200 g
  • Semi-dried young sardines (chirimenjako)
    15 g
  • bonito flakes
    5 g
  • (A)Soy sauce
    1 tsp
  • (A)Salt
    1/2 tsp
  • Roasted white sesame seeds
    1.5 tsp
  • Nori seaweed
    6 sheets

How to make

  1. 1. Add the rice, semi-dried young sardines (chirimenjako), bonito flakes, and ingredient (A) in a bowl and mix well.
  2. 2. Divide Step 1 into 2 and wrap each piece in plastic wrap to form a triangle prism of 1-inch height.
  3. 3. Cut Step 2 into 0.6-inch width pieces, wrap the nori seaweed around one of the sets, cover it with the white roasted sesame seeds on one side for another set, place it on a plate, and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

Please adjust the amount of salt to your liking. You can substitute the chirimenjako with boiled whitebait or dried whitebait if you like.
