  • Chicken neck
    100 g
  • Japanese leek
    1/2
  • Sauce
  • Cooking sake
    2 tbsp
  • Japanese sweet cooking wine (Mirin)
    2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce
    2 tbsp
  • Sugar
    1 tsp
  • Salad oil
    1 tsp
  • Cayenne pepper (powder)
    as needed

How to make

  1. 1. Cut Japanese leek into 1-inch wide pieces.
  2. 2. Cut chicken neck into bite-sized pieces.
  3. 3. Thread in the order of Step 1 and Step 2 alternately on bamboo skewers. Make another one in the same way.
  4. 4. Place cooking oil on a pan and align Step 3. Place over medium heat and cook for about 6 minutes until golden brown on both sides, then remove once.
  5. 5. Add sauce ingredients into the same pan and place over medium heat. Put Step 4 back into the pan until the sauce thickens, chicken necks are cooked through, and the sauce is coated on all sides, then remove from heat.
  6. 6. Serve on a plate, serve with cayenne pepper (powder) and it's ready.

Tips for cooking

When Japanese leek is browned, it becomes fragrant. After adding the sauce ingredients, it will burn easily, so please mix it while paying attention to the heat.
