  • Shiitake mushroom
    3
  • Thin fried tofu (Abura-age)
    1 sheets
  • Hot water
    400 ml
  • Japanese style granulated soup stock
    1 tsp
  • Miso
    2 tsp
  • Young green onion (Konegi)
    as needed

How to make

  1. Prepare. Remove the oil from thin fried tofu (abura-age).
  2. 1. Cut off the hard tip of shiitake mushrooms. Separate the stems and the caps, and slice them thinly. Cut the abura-age into strips.
  3. 2. Boil water in a pot, add Step 1, and bring it to a boil over medium heat.
  4. 3. While on medium heat, dissolve Japanese style granulated soup stock and miso and remove it from the heat.
  5. 4. Serve it in bowls, sprinkle the young green onion (konegi) and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

For abura-age, we remove the oil to make it more flavorful. Once the miso is dissolved, do not boil it to prevent losing the flavor.
