  • Milk

  • Salad oil
    40 ml

  • Sliced cheese
    4 sheets
  • Hot water

How to make

  1. Prepare. Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F). Wrap the mold with aluminum foil.
  2. 1. Heat cooking oil in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches 80°C (180°F), then remove it from the heat.
  3. 2. Transfer to a heat-resistant bowl, sift in cake flour (pastry flour), mix it well with a whisk, then add milk 2 at a time and mix it well.
  4. 3. Gradually add the egg yolks and mix it well.
  5. 4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with a hand mixer, adding the granulated sugar little by little, until they form peaks.
  6. 5. Add a scoop of Step 4 to Step 3 and lightly mix with a rubber spatula. Add the remaining Step 4, 2 at a time, mixing it well after each addition.
  7. 6. Pour half of the mixture into a mold lined with parchment paper, top it with cheese slices, and pour in the remaining Step 5. Flatten it, and drop the mold 2 times from about the height of 4-inch to remove the air.
  8. 7. Place Step 6 on a heat-resistant container, pour hot water to about half the height of the mold, and bake it in a 160°C (320°F) oven for about 40 minutes.
  9. 8. Cool it, remove it from the mold, and it’s ready.

Tips for cooking

Please make sure to preheat the oven before baking. If the oven does not have a preheating function, set the temperature and heat for 10 minutes before baking. The strength of the heat may vary depending on the type of oven and the period of use. Please make sure to follow the recipe as a guide but adjust the baking time as needed. If it browns too fast, cover it with aluminum foil.
