This is an introduction to Japanese stir-fried noodles (yakisoba) with sauce made with Japanese fish sausage instead of meat. Since the Japanese fish sausage is used, it cooks faster than meat and is a very easy dish. You can also add onions and mushrooms if you like.

  • Stir fry noodles (Yakisoba)

  • Japanese fish meat sausage

  • Japanese green bell pepper (Piman)

  • Sake
    1 tbsp
  • Thickened Japanese worcestershire sauce
    2 tbsp
  • Salt and pepper mix
    1/3 tsp
  • Salad oil
    2 tsp

How to make

  1. 1. Remove stem and seeds from Japanese green bell pepper (piman) and cut into 0.4-inch pieces. Peel carrots and cut them into strips.
  2. 2. Cut Japanese fish sausage diagonally into 0.2-inch wide pieces.
  3. 3. Add cooking oil to a pan heated over medium heat, add Step 1 and 2, and stir-fry.
  4. 4. When the carrots are tender, add stir-fry noodles (yakisoba) and sake, and stir-fry over medium heat.
  5. 5. When the yakisoba noodles have loosened, add thickened Japanese Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper mix, and stir-fry over medium heat. Remove from heat when the flavors have blended.
  6. 6. Serve on a plate, and it is ready.

Tips for cooking

Adjust the amount of salt to your liking. If you want to preserve the texture of the vegetables, stir-fry them quickly, take them out on a plate, and add them after the noodles have loosened.
