Ingredients

  • Rice
    300 g
  • Nori seaweed
    1 sheets
  • Bonito Flake Seasoning (Okaka)
  • (A)bonito flakes
    6 g
  • (A)Sugar
    2 tsp
  • (A)Soy sauce
    2 tsp
  • (A)Japanese sweet cooking wine (Mirin)
    2 tsp
  • (A)Sake
    2 tsp
  • Roasted white sesame seeds
    1 tsp

How to make

  1. 1. Cut nori seaweed with scissors and divide it into 4 equal parts.
  2. 2. Add (A) to the pan and stir-fry over medium heat.
  3. 3. Remove from heat when the liquid has evaporated.
  4. 4. Shape the rice into a size that is easy to eat, make a dent in the center, roll nori seaweed, and put Step 3 on top.
  5. 5. Arrange Step 4 on a plate, put white roasted sesame seeds on top, and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

You can substitute black roasted sesame seeds for white roasted sesame seeds. This time we used it as a topping for Japanese rice balls (onigiri), but you can also use it as a furikake rice seasoning and enjoy it.
