This is a tender Japanese fried chicken (karaage) made with rounded chicken breast. By cutting the chicken breast that is easy to get dry into cubes and putting them together, the meat cooks faster and becomes juicy. This is a cute dish, in which each piece looks like a ball. Ingredients

  • Chicken breast
    200 g
  • (A)Soy sauce
    1 tbsp
  • (A)Sake
    1/2 tbsp
  • (A)Sugar
    1 tsp
  • (A)Grated ginger
    1 tsp
  • (A)Grated garlic
    1/2 tsp
  • (A)Salt and pepper mix
    as needed
  • Starch
    4 tbsp
  • Frying oil
    as needed

How to make

  1. Prepare. Remove the skin of the chicken breast.
  2. 1. Cut chicken breast into 0.8-inch cubes and add to a bowl.
  3. 2. Add (A) to Step 1 and rub it well. Cover with plastic wrap and rest for about 10 minutes to marinate.
  4. 3. Scoop Step 2 with a spoon and add into a bowl with starch in it, coat it all over, and roll it into balls with your hands.
  5. 4. Add Step 3 to the oil heated to 170°C (340°F) and deep-fry until it turns golden brown and cooked through.
  6. 5. Drain the oil from Step 4, arrange on a plate, and it's ready to serve.

Tips for cooking

If it is hard to put together, add water, or if there is too much water, add starch to adjust. Please adjust the amount of salt to your liking.
