6 onigiri

  • Rice
    300 g
  • Shredded pizza cheeze
    100 g
  • Black pepper
    1/2 tsp
  • Pork belly
    200 g
  • (A)Sake
    2 tbsp
  • (A)Japanese sweet cooking wine (Mirin)
    2 tbsp
  • (A)Soy sauce
    2 tbsp
  • (A)Sugar
    1 tbsp
  • (A)Grated garlic
    1 tsp
  • Sesame oil
    1 tbsp
  • Garnish
  • Frill lettuce
    as needed

How to make

  1. 1. Put rice, cheese for pizza, and black pepper in a bowl and mix together. Divide it into 6 equal parts, wrap it with plastic wrap, and make it to round shape.
  2. 2. Remove the wrap from Step 1 and fully wrap it with pork belly.
  3. 3. Add sesame oil to a pan heated over medium heat, place the end of the roll on Step 2 side down, and roll it to cook every side.
  4. 4. When pork belly is cooked through, add (A) and coat it over medium heat. Remove from heat when the flavors have blended well. Serve on a plate covered with frill lettuce and it's ready to eat.

Tips for cooking

Using thin slices of shabu-shabu meat makes it easier to roll and it's less likely to come off during grilling. Please adjust seasonings to taste. *Alcoholic beverage should be consumed if you are over legal age
