We added red pickled ginger to make a colorful Japanese rolled omelet (tamagoyaki). With the addition of cabbage, it allows for a nice texture and makes it a filling dish. You can dip it in some sauce and mayonnaise if you like, which can turn the dish into a delicious okonomiyaki style rolled omelet.

Ingredients
1 omelet

  • Eggs
    2
  • Red pickled ginger
    20 g
  • Cabbage
    1 sheets
  • Japanese style granulated soup stock
    1/2 tsp
  • Salad oil
    1 tbsp
  • Okonomiyaki sauce
    as needed
  • Japanese Mayonnaise
    as needed

How to make

  1. Prepare. Wash the cabbage well.
  2. 1. Mince the cabbage and red pickled ginger.
  3. 2. Crack the eggs into a bowl, add the ingredients prepared in Step 1 and Japanese style granulated soup stock and mix well.
  4. 3. Spread a thin layer of cooking oil on the heated Japanese tamagoyaki omelet pan over medium heat. Add in 1/3 of the egg mixture from Step 2 and roll up from the edge. Repeat this 3 times.
  5. 4. Cut into bite-size pieces and put them on a plate. Serve with okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise and it is ready!

Tips for cooking

You can adjust the amount of salt to your liking. You can also substitute okonomiyaki sauce with other sauce of your choice or ketchup.
