  • Rice
    400 g
  • Sushi vinegar
    3 tbsp
  • Edamame
    80 g
  • Green shiso leaves
    4 sheets
  • Ginger
    20 g
  • Japanese pickled plum paste (Bainiku)
    1 tbsp

How to make

  1. Prepare. Cut off the stems from the green shiso leaves. Peel the ginger. Thaw the frozen edamame according to the instructions on the package and peel the thin skin from it.
  2. 1. Cut green shiso leaves into thin strips. Chop the ginger.
  3. 2. Put the rice and sushi vinegar in a bowl and mix together in a cutting motion.
  4. 3. Let it cool, add the shiso leaves from Step 1 and Japanese pickled plum paste (bainiku), and mix lightly.

Tips for cooking

You can use a regular Japanese pickled plum (umeboshi) instead of the paste. You can use a sushi vinegar of your choice. Let the rice cool well before mixing the ingredients.
