How to make

  1. 1. Cut off the hard tip from the enoki mushrooms and break them into pieces. Remove the stem of the shiitake mushrooms and make four slits in the cap.
  2. 2. Cut off the root of the Japanese leek and slice diagonally into 0.8-inch pieces. Cut the carrot into 0.4-inch pieces and cut into decorative pieces. Cut off the core of Chinese cabbage and cut it into chunks, and cut the garland chrysanthemum (crown daisy) into 3-inch.
  3. 3. Cut grilled tofu (yaki-tofu) into 8 equal pieces. Cut konjac noodles (shirataki) into 6-inch lengths.
  4. 4. Heat a pan over medium heat and add beef tallow. When it is melted, add Japanese leeks from Step 2 and beef loin, cook until the Japanese leeks are browned, then remove from the heat.
  5. 5. In the clay pot, add Kanto-style sukiyaki sauce (warishita) ingredients and heat over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  6. 6. Add Step 1, Step 2, Step 3, and Step 4, cover with a lid, and simmer over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes. When all the ingredients are cooked and the flavors are well blended, remove from the heat, serve with a bowl of beaten eggs, and it's ready to serve.
