Easy Japanese Leek and Salt Chashu - Recipe Video

  • Pork belly block
    200 g
  • (A)Cooking sake
    3 tbsp
  • (A)Salt
    1/2 tsp
  • (A)Grated garlic
    1/2 tsp
  • (A)Grated ginger
    1/2 tsp
  • Leek Sauce (Negi-Dare)
  • Japanese leek
    10 cm
  • Sesame oil
    2 tbsp
  • Grated garlic
    1/2 tsp
  • Chicken soup stock (powder, cube, liquid)
    1/2 tsp
  • Salt
    1/3 tsp

How to make

  1. 1. Poke several holes in the pork belly block with a fork.
  2. 2. Add ingredient (A) to a heat-resistant bowl and mix, then add Step 1 and blend. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  3. 3. Cover loosely with a plastic wrap and microwave for 4 minutes at 600 W. Turn it over, cover with plastic wrap and heat for another 4 minutes until it is heated through, then leave for 5 minutes.
  4. 4. Once it's cooled, cut into 0.4-inch wide pieces.
  5. 5. Now we will make the leek sauce (negi-dare). Mince Japanese leek, then put in a bowl, add the rest of negi dare sauce ingredients and mix together.
  6. 6. Place the pork from Step 4 on a plate, pour over the sauce from Step 5 and it is ready!
