  • Grilled fish cake (Yaki-chikuwa)

  • (A)Tempura flour
    3 tbsp
  • (A)Cold water
    3 tbsp
  • (A)Dried green seaweed flakes (Aonori)
    2 tsp
  • Frying oil
    as needed

How to make

  1. 1. Cut fish cake (chikuwa) in half lengthwise and cut into 2-inch lengths.
  2. 2. Add (A) in a bowl, mix, and coat Step 1 with it.
  3. 3. Heat about 2-inch of oil in a frying-pot to 180℃ (356°F), and add Step 2. Deep-fry for about 2 minutes, and remove once it gets a golden brown color, then drain off the oil.
  4. 4. Arrange on a plate and it's ready to serve.
