  • Rice
    350 g
  • Salted mackerel
    1 slice(s)
  • (A)Sesame oil
    1 tsp
  • (A)Salt
    1/3 tsp
  • (A)Black roasted sesame seeds
    2 tsp
  • Japanese pickles
    as needed

How to make

  1. 1. Grill the salted mackerel thoroughly in a grill.
  2. 2. Cool it down and remove the bones and skin, then loosen the meat.
  3. 3. Put warm rice in a bowl, add ingredient (A) and the loosened mackerel from Step 2 and mix well.
  4. 4. Divide the rice from Step 3 into 4 equal parts, wrap it in plastic wrap and shape it into an onigiri and it's done!

Tips for cooking

You can adjust the amount of salt to your liking. If you use regular mackerel instead of salted mackerel, please add salt and adjust the flavor. You can make it with white roasted sesame seeds instead of black roasted sesame seeds.
