This is a recipe of grilled kimcheese Japanese rice balls (onigiri), which has kimchi inside of rice and has melty and stretchy cheese. After mixing kimchi with just-cooked hot rice, add cheese on top and just bake! It's very easy to cook. Please try it!

Ingredients
4 onigiri

  • Rice
    400 g
  • Kimchi
    200 g
  • Chicken soup stock (powder, cube, liquid)
    1 tbsp
  • Sliced cheese
    4 sheets
  • Sesame oil
    as needed
  • Black roasted sesame seeds
    as needed

How to make

  1. 1. Add rice in the bowl, add kimchi and chicken soup stock powder, and mix well. Once it's mixed well, divide it into 4 equal pieces, use a plastic wrap, and use hands to press and form a shape.
  2. 2. Add sesame oil to a pan, add Step 1 without the plastic wrap, and heat over medium heat.
  3. 3. When browned, flip over, top with sliced cheese, cover with a lid, and heat over medium heat.
  4. 4. When the sliced cheese is melted, remove the pan from the heat.
  5. 5. Place it on a plate and finish with a sprinkle of black roasted sesame seeds.

Tips for cooking

Please adjust the amount of rice and kimchi as you like. You can also use cheese for pizza instead of sliced cheese. You can use white sesame instead of black roased sesame seeds. You can also remove it if you like.
